Background:
Green and Blue Planet Solutions Co., Ltd. (GBP) was commissioned by the printed circuit board (PCB) assembly company to perform Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) or Environmental Due Diligence (EDD) on an area approximately 25,600 square meters located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The client had deemed to be merged and acquired by a foreign investor and required to carry out the ESA as a part of their due diligence process. Thus, GBP Environmental Consultants offer a comprehensive range of EDD services to support this business transaction. This assessment was executed in general accordance with procedures described under “ASTM E1527-21 Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments: Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Process”, and the compliance was strictly addressed with Thailand’s regulations and requirements.
Our Approach:
Our team visited the PCB factory to evaluate actual practices on environmental management as well as to understand their facilities, manufacturing process and environmental impact caused by their operation. In addition, our team also interviewed the key personnel of the factory. Besides, all relevant environmental documents, including environmental licenses, laboratory testing results, accidental reports, internal and external audit reports, were examined. The key findings were summarized in the factual report and briefed to our client within the challenging timeframe of the due diligence process.

Our work helped our client to identify potential environmental risks associated with the electronics factory operation. We also pointed out some non-conformity of environmental and occupational safety regulatory requirements, including worst-case scenarios based on our expertise to present the information and benefit to the client.
